is a native New Yorker and professes in Texas (at Southwestern University, where she is Professor of English and holds the McManis University Chair). When she’s not writing about American Jewish film, literature, and culture, she’s teaching undergraduates that the transferability of humanities skills can sustain them economically and ethically.
